“The Renaissance arrives at Studio 54” – Gucci Fashion Show

Without question, Gucci has pulled off the fashion comeback of the past twelve months.

It’s a year since Alessandro Michele, its then brand new creative director debuted his radically different vision for the brand, and the AW 2016 women’s wear show which took place yesterday suggested there’s plenty more to mine.

Creative director Alessandro Michele lived up to his groundbreaking expectations. The colorful, dramatic collection was a feast for the eyes, featuring 70 looks that could each pass as works of art. (Fun fact—famed fashion photographer Petra Collins walked in the show!) Staying true to the brand’s trademark whimsical touches, i.e. bows, ruffles, and playful prints, the fall collection is a modern take on eras past that organically encourages its wearers to take risks.

The incredible attention to detail down to the jewelry, layering, and gorgeous embellishment is mesmerizing. Look to this collection to be setting a plethora of fall trends… According to Gucci, all the cool girls will be wearing colored tights with high platform sandals come fall.
