Sergio Tacchini’s SS18

SS18 sees Italian brand Sergio Tacchini propel through the UK market, with two clothing lines.

Named after the tennis player himself, Sergio Tacchini founded the brand in the 60’s and the rich history continues to inspire the current collections. Italian style and creativity, innovation and quality, together with tennis DNA are the values of Sergio Tacchini, a reference brand for those who love to wear casual but with elegance and style.

Sergio Tacchini’s top line:

The Archivio collection. Representing the Sergio story and the elegance of the brand, the Archivio line features reproductions of iconic essentials from the Italian brand’s history. Rich in heritage, these styles have been seen on many of the great tennis players over the decades, with their designs reworked and materials and graphics updated for the current day.

SS18 sees the introduction of the ‘Blow’, a drop- stitch knitted cotton polo, in a slim fit nodding back to the brand’s archives. Tracksuits dominate the collection, with raglan sleeve detailing and oversized zips adding depth to the range. Retro connotations are narrated with timeless colours of blues; navy, royal, sky blue and ‘reddish’, white and grey. Seasonal pops of fern green and vintage red lift the line, which also features track tops, tees and classic sport’s pants all with a heritage story.

This ‘sports lifestyle’ catalogue for SS18 is built upon a plethora of stories;

Heritex, The Flow, Check In Out, Monte-Carlo and Essential Training.

With a focus on details and textiles, the brand ’s heritage inspires a ‘city-life’ collection, formed of urban garments. These qualities see the comfort of the sportswear propelled in a modern slim fit style, keeping it refined and clean. Small shots of fluoro colours and different hem lengths add a trend-led modern vibe.

Activewear inspired by Sergio’s tennis players, is designed for men on the go, with the need to travel in comfort. The Italian three-colour flag features on all the items in the ‘Check In Out’ line subtly, reinforcing the brand’s roots.

‘The Flow’ is characterised by its graphics, colour blocking and fabrics in polyester such as diamond rip stop and poly piqué, deriving from the Australian Open. Other graphics can be seen across the ‘Essential Training’ collections, which features a marked presence of the gigantic logo on sweats, t-shirts and tracksuits, reproduced with different printing techniques. Fits are again slimmer, while preserving the comfort of training garments and small details embellish the line.

Sergio Tacchini continues its partnership with the prestigious Monte-Carlo tournament, as technical sponsors for the first clay court tournament on the ATP circuit.

With this collaboration comes the ‘Monte Carlo’ range, a line fit for the staff, including the iconic ball boys. Maintaining an elegance across the court, the prevailing colour is turquoise sat with white and blue across light, innovative tech fabrics which are breathable and performing.
