AUSTRALIAN RISING STARS, THE TERRYS UNVEIL FIRST UK SINGLE ‘SILENT DISCO’, THE FIRST TRACK TAKEN FROM THEIR FORTHCOMING 2nd ALBUM

Leading lights of Australia’s vibrant surf-rock scene, The Terrys, land in the UK with a bang as they drop their electrifying new single, ‘Silent Disco’, the first taste of their much-anticipated sophomore album. Out now, the track is set to blow away listeners with its high-octane blend of rock ‘n’ roll energy, a pop-infused chorus and youthful abandon.

“‘Silent Disco’ is not a serious song, and the lyrics were made up in the studio,” reveals the band’s vocalist, Jacob Finch. “As soon as I heard the guitar and the drum beat, I was like, ‘Ohhh, we are gonna do a song like this.’ I was instantly excited and wanted to use my voice more as an instrument and let it sit in the pocket.”

The song’s carefree lyrics and shout-along chorus were born from the same in-studio spontaneity. Jacob continues, “It was never written down anywhere ever; it was just flown straight from the top of the dome! And to be honest, I’m just glad Ziggy (my dog) got a shout out in this one.”

As a teaser to their forthcoming album, ‘Silent Disco’ invites listeners to join The Terrys on a twisting musical journey that perfectly introduces you to their mad-cap sound. Melding brit-pop melodies, groove-laden percussion, chiming guitars and a lyrical wit unique to these Gerrigong boys, it’s an anthemic blast of soulful indie rock sure to win over new fans on distant shores.

“This album is such a mixed bag of treats; there’s not one song the same. They are all sick and they are across a whole bunch of genres. So I know the mosh pit crew are gonna love this, but we got something for everyone,” explains lead guitarist, Lukas.

Birthed from the same scene that gave the world Hockey Dad, Dune Rats and Skeggs, The Terrys’ meteoric rise began with their formation amidst a global lockdown. Composed of Jacob Finch (vocals), Lukas Anderson (lead guitar), Ben Salvatori (rhythm guitar), Cameron Cooper (drums), and Trent Cooper (bass), the band quickly established themselves as a high-energy force to be recognised with.

In the three years since the band has formed, they have accumulated over 30 million streams, landed their debut album, ‘True Colour’, at #3 in the ARIA Aus Album Charts, been publicly voted twice into triple j’s coveted Hottest 100 competition and sold-out tours around Australia.

With a rapidly growing cult following and an insatiable creative drive, The Terrys are taking their music to the globe. The band is currently mid-tour in New Zealand and are about to bring their chaotic yet joyous live show to the Eastern Hemisphere for the first time with 13 headline shows across Europe and UK throughout late-September and early-October.

“It’s been a dream of ours to go to Europe and play our songs in front of people we don’t know in a foreign country. When we’ve been playing in Australia we’ve had English people in the crowd come up to us saying we should be playing in the UK and Europe so we hope they’re gonna love us.”
