After just one single, Henry Moodie has the world at his feet. Firmly cementing his position as the UK’s next breakout star, Henry releases drunk text.

Building on his recent inclusion in Amazon Music’s Artists to Watch in 2023 (following in the footsteps of Billie Eilish and Griff), a combined 45 million worldwide streams, while also landing in the Top 10 most viewed UK artists on TikTok in 2022drunk text marks the beginning of a promising year for the 18-year-old singer songwriter and BIMM alumni from Guildford, Surrey. This spring, Henry will kick off his debut UK headline tour, whilst also going on the road with Mimi Webb across Europe.

All this follows Henry’s hugely successful first, and so far only, single, you were there for me, written and produced entirely by Henry in his bedroom, which has already amassed more than 38 million streams on Spotify alone.

Henry’s second single, drunk text, is hung on the gut-wrenching feeling of loving someone from afar. Delving into love in one of its most heart-breaking and universal forms, Henry’s gift for dynamic song writing and unadulterated pop is evident as the track unfolds with a candid arrangement of moving piano work – the perfect background to Henry’s powerful vocals.

Henry Moodie says: “drunk text is all about loving someone from afar and that torturous feeling of being in love with someone who it just wouldn’t work out with, it’ll always have to be a secret.”

“When I was writing the song, I really wanted to mirror my emotions; that excruciatingly confusing feeling of deleting the text that you are so close to sending, and then also, the feeling of what I’d wanted to say all along.”

Henry has found his voice as a solo musician and songwriter, oozing a level of emotional vulnerability, and sweeping, timeless lyrics that set him apart from his counterparts as the most exciting pop artist coming out of the UK. At just 18 years old, Henry has already entered Spotify charts across Europe, achieved more than 10 million views on TikTok, and 2.3m monthly listeners on Spotify alone.

Henry signed to Sony Music’s Columbia Records and Robots & Humans in August 2022. If this is what he can achieve after releasing just one song then it’s clear the sky is the limit for this up-and-coming artist tailor-made for stardom.
