FAT TROUT TRAILER PARK released the incendiary ‘New Skin’ on 7th September. It’s an urgent, thrilling track that continues the run of incredibly powerful singles from this emerging New York-based duo.
‘New Skin’ follows ‘Belt’ and ‘Sleepy Peeps’ as the third track to be taken from the duo’s upcoming EP ‘Florida’, out today via the brilliant 22TWENTY label.
On the track FTTP say – “Lyrically the song touches on the mental and physical changes one goes through before, during and after a spell of depression. We wanted to mimic the intensity, confusion, panic and revelation through high octane musical performances.”
FAT TROUT TRAILER PARK is a post-punk response to modern life, where beyond the noise lies an incisive critique of contemporary society. Economic and environmental violence are looming presences; depression rears its head and hedonism spirals out of control as FAT TROUT TRAILER PARK interrogates its overarching theme: 21stcentury disillusionment.
FAT TROUT TRAILER PARK stands to continue its assault on Wall Street culture and the phoney meritocracy, while frequently retreating to review the inner turmoil of the individual in such disturbing times.
Until then, the band continues its ascent through the New York City live schedule, cutting a formidable force in a city in the early throes of a new era of guitar-driven dissidence.
The band released the ‘Fat Trout Trailer Park’ EP in 2020 and it saw them tipped by DIY, NME, Dork, Clash, Still Listening, TMRW and Alt Press as well as Jack Saunders at BBC Radio 1 and Matt Wilkinson at Apple Music.
